Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois with a population of almost three million people.
With a population of 3 million people, Chicago is the 3rd largest city in the US.

The city was founded in 1833 at the site of a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River basin.

Ever since the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, Chicago has been regarded as one of the ten most influential cities of the world.

Chicago is a wonderful place for tourists to visit.
It enjoys a waterfront area with nightlife and clubs for dancing and entertainment. Chicago’s theater district is a common site for improvisational comedy such as The Second City and I.O. Other theater companies include the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the Goodman Theatre and the Victory Gardens Theater.

Broadway-style shows are offered at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theater and several other local theaters. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra offers classical music shows and the Joffrey Ballet performs in a number of venues.

44 million tourists visit the City of Chicago each year.
Tourist are given the Magnificent Mile, a corridor of upscale shopping, thousands of restaurants and lovely architecture. Most conventions are held at McCormick Place, near Soldier Field. Navy pier hosts numerous retail shops, museums, exhibit halls and auditoriums. There is even a 150 foot tall Ferris Wheel on the lakefront.

The historic Chicago Cultural Center has a visitor information center, art galleries and exhibit halls.

Millennium Park is a rebuilt section of a formal railroad—a place for sculptures and restaurants for tourists to visit.

The Museum Campus is a ten acre lakefront park that is surrounded by three primary museums—the Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum of natural History and the Shedd Aquarium. This area joins to the Southern section of Grant Park which includes the Art institute of Chicago.
